3 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 whole eggs
1 egg, separated
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 1/3  cups flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup walnuts (chopped fine)
 
  1. Mix butter, sugar the 2 whole eggs, the extra egg yolk, and the lemon juice until fluffy
  2. Combine dry ingredients
  3. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture
  4. Stir in nuts
  5. Roll out dough to 1/16" thickness, cut cookies
  6. Place cookies on lightly greased cookie sheet
  7. Beat remaining egg white until frothy
  8. Brush cookies with egg white
  9. Bake at 375 F for 6 to 8 minutes
