Gingersnaps
2 1/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cloves (ground)
1/4 teaspoons salt
1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
sugar
 
  1. In medium bowl combine flour, soda, spices and salt
  2. In large bowl combine brown sugar, shorting molasses and egg
  3. Add flour mixture, beat well
  4. Shape dough into 1" balls
  5. Roll in sugar
  6. Place on  ungreased cookie sheet, 2" apart
  7. Bake at 375 F for 10 minutes
