Candy Suckers
2 cups sugar

3/4 cup light corn syrup

3/4 cup water

1 teaspoon flavoring (lemon, cherry, what ever you wish)

confectioner's sugar for dusting
 
 

  1. Stir sugar, corn syrup and water in saucepan.
  2. Heat at medium-high, until sugar has dissolved
  3. Boil until 300o F hard ball stage (DON'T STIR)
  4. Remove from heat
  5. Stir in flavoring
  6. Pour onto molds
  7. Let cool
  8. Dust with confectioner's sugar
  9. Wrap with plastic

 
Hard candy requires a special type of mold. The not so cheap candy molds sold in most stores can't handle the temperature and will melt! 

However there is an online company Get Suckered, Inc. that carries a wide variety of molds along with flavorings and other extras.
