Butterscotch Brownies

1/4 cup butter
1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
1 egg
3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup walnuts (chopped)
  1. Melt butter over low heat
  2. Remove butter from heat, mix in sugar, let cool
  3. Stir in egg
  4. Add dry ingredients
  5. Add vanilla and nuts
  6. Spread into a well greased square 8" X 8" X 2" pan
  7. Bake at 350 degrees 25 minutes.
  8. Cut while warm
